   Thank you so much for stopping! I'm going to Kurai, if it's on your way, and from there on foot to the Aktru glacier.

   По пути, я гружёный до Кош-Агача иду. Двадцать лет в дальнобое, этот тракт как свои пять пальцев знаю.

   It's on my way, I'm taking a load to Kosh-Agach. Twenty years of long-haul, I know this highway like the back of my hand.

   Is it true long-haul drivers don't pick up hitchhikers? Three lorries passed me this morning without even slowing down.

   Кто как. Я беру: с попутчиком, говорят, дорога вдвое короче, сидишь, байки травишь, километры сами бегут.

   Depends on the driver. I do: they say a companion makes the road half as long, you sit there swapping stories and the kilometres fly by.

   Изволь. Подобрал я как-то на Семинском перевале паренька вроде тебя: тоже на ледник шёл, один, никому не сказавшись.

   As you wish. Once on the Seminsky Pass I picked up a lad like you: he was heading for a glacier too, alone, without telling a soul.

   Три дня его всем районом искали, спасатели, вертолёт. Нашли живого, слава богу, но с тех пор я каждому попутчику одно и то же твержу.

   The whole district searched for him for three days, rescuers, a helicopter. They found him alive, thank God, but ever since I've told every hitchhiker the same thing.

    Можно, если с головой. Маршрут в МЧС зарегистрируй и матери позвони, прямо сейчас, из кабины. Горы не трасса, там попутку не поймаешь.

    You can, if you've got your head screwed on. Register your route with the rescue service and call your mother, right now, from the cab. The mountains aren't a highway: you won't catch a lift up there.
