Colleagues, allow me to begin. The winner, in my view, is number seven: flawless metre, and what an image, "a city breathed out into the snow"!
-
B
Arkady Lvovich, with all due respect, number seven's a bit dull. Now number twelve really bangs: punchlines, flow, internal rhymes, it's straight fire.
-
C
Dima, please translate for the jury. What does "bangs" mean, and why is it a good thing?
-
B
Well, it holds the rhythm, you know? You read it aloud and it's like you're carried along, and at the end of the line the rhyme hits the target.

A
Excuse me, young man, but that's exactly what metre is. And number seven, if I may say so, has exactly the same one, without a single slip.
-
C
Wait a moment. Dima, you heard number twelve from the stage, but Arkady Lvovich's numbers go by the list of entries.
-
B
Right, "a city breathed out into the snow"... Hang on, that's my number twelve, that's the very line he finished on!
-
A
So it turns out, young man, that we spent a good half hour arguing while agreeing with each other. Still, for a jury that's a rare stroke of luck.
-
C
Then it's unanimous. You'll announce it together: Arkady Lvovich on the imagery, and Dima on the flow.
