   Wow! All the years I've supported Avangard, and I can't remember a shootout like that.

   Да уж, пап, у меня сердце чуть не выскочило, когда их капитан в штангу попал.

   You said it, Dad, my heart nearly jumped out when their captain hit the post.

   А наш вратарь даже не шелохнулся, потому что знал, куда пойдёт шайба. Это не везение, это опыт.

   And our goalie didn't even flinch, because he knew where the puck would go. That's not luck, that's experience.

   Ну ты скажешь! А вот удаление в третьем периоде было несправедливым, судья в другую сторону смотрел.

   Oh, come on! But the penalty in the third period was unfair, the referee was looking the other way.

   Как это несправедливым? Наш защитник его клюшкой зацепил, я со своего места всё видел.

   What do you mean, unfair? Our defenceman hooked him with his stick, I saw it all from my seat.

   Dad, from row eight you see worse than the referee by the boards, and besides, you left your glasses at home.

   Очки не очки, а подножку я отличу. Удаление ведь нам на пользу пошло: вчетвером отбились и разозлились.

   Glasses or no glasses, I know a trip when I see one. And that penalty did us good: we held out with four men and got angry.

   See, and you blame the referee. Maybe he handed us the win without even knowing it.

    Honestly, Dad: an hour ago you were yelling 'Ref, you're blind!' for the whole stand to hear, and now he's your saviour.
