   Hey there, champion skier! Here's a care package: cutlets from Lena and some pies, only hide them quick before the nurse sees.

   Thanks, you're a lifesaver! The soup here is so clear you could wash windows with it.

   The soup's not good enough for him, if you please! And who was flying down a mountain on skis at Baikal like a young elk, me?

   Куда уж строже? Я ему каждый день твержу: тише едешь, дальше будешь. А он лежит в гипсе и про новые лыжи мечтает.

   How much stricter can I be? Every day I tell him: slow and steady wins the race. And there he lies in plaster, dreaming about new skis.

   Да ладно вам, Пётр Ильич. Врач на обходе сказал: перелом чистый, без смещения, через неделю выпишут на костылях. Правда, потом месяц на больничном.

   Oh, come on, Pyotr Ilyich. On the ward round the doctor said it's a clean break, no displacement, they'll discharge me on crutches in a week. Then a month of sick leave, mind you.
