   Good afternoon. I bought a washing machine from you a week ago, and the day before yesterday it died in the middle of a wash.

   Сочувствую, бывает. Мы с радостью оформим гарантийный ремонт: сервисный центр всё посмотрит и устранит неисправность.

   I'm sorry to hear it, these things happen. We'll gladly arrange a warranty repair: the service centre will look it over and fix the fault.

   Спасибо, ремонт мне не нужен. Вот письменная претензия: прошу вернуть деньги.

   Thank you, but I don't need a repair. Here is my written claim: I'm asking for a refund.

   I'm afraid it's not that simple. First we're required to carry out an expert examination, and that, alas, takes up to forty-five days.

   Давайте по порядку. Стиральная машина относится к технически сложным товарам, и в первые пятнадцать дней я вправе вернуть её при любом недостатке, даже несущественном.

   Let's take it step by step. A washing machine counts as a technically complex product, and within the first fifteen days I'm entitled to return it for any defect, even a minor one.

   But we don't know whose fault it is. Maybe you overloaded the drum or used the wrong powder.
