   In front of us is the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin, founded at the beginning of the thirteenth century. Note the blue domes strewn with golden stars.

   Allow me to clarify: founded in the thirteenth, but rebuilt in the sixteenth. Only the lower part is white stone, the top is brick.

   Совершенно верно, я как раз собирался об этом сказать. Нижний ярус сохранился от домонгольского храма, это редчайший памятник белокаменного зодчества.

   Quite right, I was just about to say so. The lower tier survives from the pre-Mongol church, it's an extremely rare example of white-stone architecture.

   With all due respect, "extremely rare" is putting it strongly. There are three like it in Vladimir, and the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl is close by.
