    Grandpa, why are you covering the tomatoes with buckets?

    По радио сказали, ночью до минус двух.

    They said on the radio it'll go down to minus two tonight.

    Какой минус? Днём было двадцать градусов!

    Minus two? It was twenty degrees during the day!

    Май у нас такой. Хотя днём и тепло, ночью бывают заморозки.

    That's May for you here. Even though it's warm during the day, there can be frosts at night.

    Ясно. Давай помогу, пока светло.

    I see. Let me help while it's still light.
