Stepan Mikhailovich, we've got trouble: I wanted to fire up the bathhouse, but storks have settled on the chimney!

You should be glad, Vitya! A stork on the roof means good luck, every child knows that.

Счастье счастьем, а мыться где? Затоплю, так они же от дыма улетят.
Luck is all very well, but where am I supposed to wash? If I light the stove, the smoke will drive them away.

И не вздумай! Там уже, наверное, яйца, а брошенное гнездо у нас к беде.
Don't you dare! There are probably eggs in there already, and around here an abandoned nest brings bad luck.

Мойся пока у меня. А осенью, вместо того чтобы их гонять, поставим им столб с колесом.
Wash at my place for now. And in the autumn, instead of chasing them off, we'll put up a pole with a wheel for them.
