In a gym locker room in Moscow, a man tells his friend about a problem with his girlfriend, Nastya.

    У меня с Настей опять напряжёнка. Обижается, что я каждый вечер на работе до ночи.

    Things are tense with Nastya again. She's hurt that I'm at work till late every evening.

    Вечная история: работа или отношения. А сам что думаешь?

    The same old story: work or the relationship. And what do you think yourself?

    А что я? Я же не бездельничаю: проект горит, начальник звонит даже в выходные.

    What about me? It's not like I'm goofing off: the project is on fire, my boss calls even at weekends.

    Это понятно, но у тебя ведь проект горит всегда. Может, пора найти баланс и сбавить обороты?

    Sure, but your project is always on fire. Maybe it's time to find a balance and slow down a bit?

    Она то же самое говорит. Хочет, чтобы я хоть иногда приходил домой к ужину.

    That's just what she says. She wants me to come home for dinner at least now and then.

  6. B

    И правильно хочет. Деньги деньгами, а отношения, знаешь ли, беречь надо.

    And she's right to. Money is money, but a relationship, you know, needs looking after.

    Ладно, убедил. Сегодня уйду в шесть и, вместо того чтобы сидеть над отчётом, поведу её в ресторан.

    OK, you've convinced me. Today I'll leave at six and, instead of sitting over a report, I'll take her out to a restaurant.
