Day 155: Fish at the Domino Table

In a courtyard in Tver, two old friends face each other across the table in the final of the courtyard domino tournament.

    Ну что, Михалыч, финал так финал. У нас обоих ни одной проигранной партии за весь турнир.

    Well, Mikhalych, a final is a final. Neither of us has lost a single game in the whole tournament.

    Вот и встретились: нас с тобой водой не разольёшь, а тут вдруг соперники. Ставлю пусто-шесть.

    So here we are: you and I are joined at the hip, and now suddenly we're rivals. I'm playing blank-six.

    А мне и ходить нечем... Погоди, да и тебе тоже. Рыба!

    And I've got nothing to play... Hang on, neither have you. Blocked, it's a fish!

    Считаем очки. У меня двенадцать, только не говори, что у тебя столько же.

    Let's count the points. I've got twelve, just don't tell me you've got the same.

    Двенадцать, как в аптеке. Час играли, а в результате ничья!

    Twelve, spot on. We played for an hour, and in the end it's a draw!

    Раз рыба, значит, это знак. Завтра на рассвете едем на Волгу, там и выясним, кто кого.

    If it's a fish, then it's a sign. Tomorrow at dawn we go to the Volga, and we'll find out there who beats whom.

    Договорились, и чур держать слово: в пять утра у подъезда, а червей копаешь ты.
