Day 56: The Ice Drill in the Car

At dawn on a frozen reservoir near Rybinsk, two fishing friends start to set up for the day.

    Ну, располагаемся... Слушай, а бур где? Ты его брал?

    Right, let's set up... Listen, where's the drill? Did you take it?

    Я? Я думал, ты взял. Ты же его вчера в машину клал.

    Me? I thought you took it. You were the one who put it in the car yesterday.

  3. A

    Клал... и в багажнике оставил. Там он, значит, и лежит.

    I put it in... and left it in the trunk. So that's where it is.

  4. B

    Ну, раз ты оставил, тебе и идти. Всего-то два километра.

    Well, since you left it, you're the one going. It's only two kilometers.

    Принёс! А это что, три окуня? Откуда?

    Got it! What's this, three perch? Where from?

  6. B

    Тут рядом чужая лунка, вчера кем-то пробитая. Лёд сверху ногой разбил и ловлю.

    There's someone else's hole nearby, drilled yesterday. I broke the ice on top with my foot and I'm fishing.

    То есть я четыре километра зря прошёл?

    So I walked four kilometers for nothing?
