   Andryukha, we're rolling, give me a close-up with the river behind him. Ivan Kuzmich, tell us how you came to work at the crossing.

   Да как попал... Отец тут паромщиком был, и дед, а я вот пятьдесят лет вожу людей от ледохода до ледостава.

   Well, how did I come to it... My father was the ferryman here, and my grandfather, and I've been carrying people across for fifty years, from the spring thaw to the big freeze.
