   So, Andryukha, what's your telly showing? Where are the fish?

   Да какая рыба, Петрович, у меня опять клюёт! Третий лещ за полчаса, и каждый, ни много ни мало, на кило.

   Never mind his fish, Petrovich, I've got another bite! Third bream in half an hour, and every one a kilo, no less.

   Ничего не понимаю. Эхолот показывает пустое дно, глубина четыре метра, ни одной рыбы, а приложение обещает клёв ноль из пяти.

   I don't get it. The fish finder shows an empty bottom, four metres deep, not a single fish, and the app gives the bite a zero out of five.

   А рыба, сынок, твоё приложение не читала. Ветер с юга, вода тёплая, значит, лещ стоит у бровки, и никакой экран тебе этого не скажет.

   But the fish haven't read your app, son. The wind's from the south, the water's warm, so the bream are holding at the drop-off, and no screen will tell you that.

   But that's exactly what a fish finder is supposed to show: the drop-off, the holes and the fish. Maybe my settings have gone wrong?

   Maybe it's the settings. A forty-thousand-rouble gadget, and so far the whole catch is ours, on bread and old rods.

   That's because you've been staring at the screen for half the day instead of at your float. Look, you've had a bite for a minute now, by the way.
