Day 47 - Discussing the Big Game

Today's Tasks

1. Read the lesson context.
2. Listen to the audio clips several times until the sounds feel familiar. Do not repeat aloud—just listen and absorb.
3. Download the Anki deck and review it daily. It includes all the audio clips in today's lesson for efficient review. Review previous decks if prompted to do so.
4. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Russian audio. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it.

  Ну что, смотрел вчера матч? Наши опять продули.

  So, did you watch the match yesterday? Our team lost again.

  Да уж, игра нервная была. В первом тайме ещё нормально держались.

  Yeah, the game was tense. In the first half they still held up okay.

  А во втором просто расклеились. Оборона — дырявая, атака — никакая.

  And in the second they just fell apart. The defense was full of holes, the offense was nonexistent.

  Согласен. Гол на 89-й минуте вообще добил. Я уже на ничью надеялся.

  Agreed. The goal in the 89th minute completely did us in. I was already hoping for a draw.

  По-моему, тренера пора менять. Команда совсем без стратегии играет.

  I think it’s time to change the coach. The team plays with no strategy at all.

  Возможно. Но и игрокам собраться бы, а то такое чувство, что им всё равно.

  Maybe. But the players should pull themselves together too, otherwise it feels like they don’t care.
• 7.
  Эх, ладно… В следующие выходные всё равно смотреть будем, никуда не денемся.

  Eh, oh well… Next weekend we’ll watch anyway; we’re not going anywhere.

  Ага, куда мы денемся. Верим в команду, хоть и ругаем её постоянно.

  Yeah, what else can we do. We believe in the team, even though we constantly criticize it.
