   Gosha's coming back on Saturday, after eight months' work on a ship. We need to throw him a lavish welcome.

   Let's rent a bar and invite thirty people or so: he walks in, and the whole gang's there!

   Он восемь месяцев кормил сорок ртов на камбузе: людьми он наверняка сыт по горло.

   He's spent eight months feeding forty mouths in a ship's galley: he's surely had it up to here with people.

   Тогда ресторан, только мы втроём: пусть хоть раз не он кашеварит, а ему подают.

   A restaurant, then, just the three of us: for once he won't be the one at the stove, he'll be the one being served.

   Or we could whisk him straight off to Karelia? In his place I'd be missing the forest.

   Listen, he wrote to me: first thing, the steam room, and then a week of catching up on sleep.

   Вот и сюрприз готов. Топим у меня на даче баню, а шумную встречу отложим до следующего рейса.

   There's our surprise, then. We fire up the banya at my dacha, and save the noisy welcome for his next voyage.
