   Good evening, that's your new network, isn't it, "Downstairs neighbour, stop drilling"? Very witty, I must say.

   Ой, неловко вышло. Я, честно говоря, не думал, что мы об этом в лифте заговорим.

   Oh, this is awkward. To be honest, I didn't think we'd end up talking about it in the lift.

   Of course I understand, nobody likes noise. But I haven't picked up a drill since the spring.

   What do you mean, you haven't? Then who's drilling every evening at nine sharp?

   Скорее всего, на четвёртом ремонт: по перекрытиям звук идёт так, будто сверлят за стенкой.

   Most likely it's the renovation on the fourth floor: sound travels through the floors so it seems like someone's drilling right behind the wall.

   So I've been blaming you for nothing. That's embarrassing, please forgive me.

   Never mind, it happens. But since we're on the subject of noise: at night your subwoofer makes my chandelier swing.
