  1. A

Can you smell that, Petrovich, the shashlik from the café across the road? Three weeks on steamed cutlets, soon I'll start biting people.

  2. B

I can, Kolya. Treatments finish at four, dinner's at seven, so we've got a window.

  3. A

But we go through the side gate, quietly. If anyone asks, we've gone out for some fresh air, on doctor's orders.

  4. C

Good evening, comrade conspirators. Off somewhere, and through the side gate, no less?

  5. B

Well, doctor, we've come out for a breath of air. They say the air here is healing.

  6. C

Healing, I don't dispute it, especially the air from the direction of the shashlik place. I breathe it in myself every evening.

  7. A

Doctor, have a heart. One skewer, a little one, just to lift our spirits, and we won't break the rules again, you have my word.

  8. C

If I banned everything unhealthy, half the sanatorium would have run off by now. Here's what we'll do: one skewer each, no lavash and no brandy.

  9. B

No brandy... That's harsh, doctor, but fair. Come on, Kolya, before he changes his mind.
