   Ну что, Михалыч, последние гранки. Сорок лет ты мне их из типографии носил, а с завтрашнего дня у нас один сайт.

   Well, Mikhalych, the last proofs. For forty years you brought them to me from the print shop, and from tomorrow all we have is a website.

   Носил, Витя, носил. Я ещё на линотипе начинал, свинцовые строки руками перебирал, а теперь, выходит, конец эпохи.

   I did, Vitya, I did. I started out on a Linotype, sorting lead lines by hand, and now, it seems, it's the end of an era.

   Почему же конец, Пётр Михайлович? Газета остаётся, просто без бумаги. Читателей на сайте, между прочим, втрое больше, чем весь наш тираж.

   Why the end, Pyotr Mikhailovich? The newspaper stays, just without the paper. We have three times more readers on the website than our whole print run, by the way.

   Глеб, не утешай стариков цифрами, мы их сами сорок лет печатали. Давай лучше о деле: нужен заголовок для последнего выпуска.

   Gleb, don't comfort old men with numbers, we've been printing them ourselves for forty years. Let's get down to business: we need a headline for the last issue.

   У меня есть вариант с каламбуром: «Уходим в сеть». И рыбаки поймут, и программисты.

   I've got one with a pun: "We're Going into the Net." Fishermen will get it, and so will programmers.

   Сеть... Помню, как вы с пекарней бились, пока не родился «Колобок ушёл от всех». Витя тогда сказал: хороший каламбур не объясняют, читатель сам додумает.

   The net... I remember you two wrestling with that bakery until "Kolobok Ran Away from Them All" was born. Vitya said back then: you don't explain a good pun, the reader works it out for himself.

   И сейчас повторю: этот объяснять не придётся. Только для похорон как-то легкомысленно, Глеб: люди нас полвека выписывали.

   And I'll say it again now: this one won't need explaining. Only it's a bit flippant for a funeral, Gleb: people subscribed to us for half a century.

   I wanted "Everything Flows, Everything Changes," but I'm afraid Heraclitus doesn't sell on the front page. Mikhalych, you set the last line for forty years, so it's your call.

    Тогда так. Когда в девяносто пятом списывали линотипы, я последнюю строку набрал руками, и знаешь, какую? «Продолжение следует».

    Then here's what. When they wrote off the Linotypes in ninety-five, I set the last line by hand, and do you know what it was? "To Be Continued."

    "To Be Continued"... Oh, you sly old fox, there's no arguing with that. Gleb, put it in the layout across the whole page, and pick a heavier typeface.
