   Here it is, Gennady Pavlovich, our grandfather's collection. My cousin wants to sell it, I'm against, so today you're our referee.

   Не продать, а пристроить в хорошие руки. Альбомы пылятся на антресолях, а у меня ипотека, так что вопрос цены не праздный.

   Not sell, find it a good home. The albums are gathering dust on top of the wardrobe, and I've got a mortgage, so the question of price isn't an idle one.

   Я бы не торопился с цифрами: надо проверить вес и гурт. Но если подлинный, при такой сохранности он дороже всех трёх альбомов.

   I wouldn't rush to name figures: the weight and the edge need checking. But if it's genuine, in this condition it's worth more than all three albums.

   Вот это поворот. Погоди, под ним в кармашке записка, дедов почерк: «Нашёл в пятьдесят восьмом, когда копали фундамент нашего дома».

   Now that's a twist. Wait, there's a note in the pocket under it, Grandpa's handwriting: "Found in fifty-eight, when they were digging the foundations of our house."

    Нашего дома на Каштановой? Выходит, талер двести лет пролежал в нашей земле, а мы его чуть не продали, не глядя.

    Our house on Kashtanovaya? So the thaler lay in our ground for two hundred years, and we nearly sold it without even looking.

    Разумное решение. А остальное я бы тоже продавать не спешил: коллекция без главной монеты, знаете ли, как дом без фундамента.
