   Lot seventeen: Nikolai Kudrin, Landscape with a Mill, eighteen sixty-two, oil on canvas. The estimate is three to five hundred thousand, the starting price three hundred. Who will open?

   It doesn't, but the museum has patrons. Eight hundred. We need it for our exhibition "Forgotten Pupils of the Academy".

   Держитесь, Павел Андреевич. Парадокс: при жизни Кудрин прозябал в безвестности, а теперь за него дерутся музей и частная коллекция.

   Hold on, Pavel Andreyevich. It's a paradox: in his lifetime Kudrin languished in obscurity, and now a museum and a private collection are fighting over him.
