  1. A

Hello. I need front brake pads for a Focus, second generation, 2008. Have you got anything?

  2. B

For a good man there's everything, brother. Look: here's an original, here's an aftermarket copy, and here's a Chinese original. Take your pick.

  3. A

Excuse me, but what's a 'Chinese original'? An original that went to China and came back?

  4. B

Now you're insulting me. Same factory, same line, only the box has no logo and no mark-up. What are you paying for, the brakes or the picture?

  5. A

The brakes, of course. So what's wrong with the copy, then?

  6. B

With a copy, brother, it's a lottery: today it brakes, tomorrow it squeaks, and the day after you're buying new ones from me. Take the Chinese original, I swear, they'll last forever.

  7. A

Fine, you've talked me into it. Only why do the original and the Chinese original have the same barcode, and why is the sticker crooked on one of the boxes?

  8. B

Listen, brother, where did you get such sharp eyes? From the tax office or something?

  9. A

From a car service, I'm a service advisor there. But this is my own car, so I felt like buying parts at the market for once, like an ordinary mortal.

  10. B

Why didn't you say so straight away! For our own people, brother, there's a real original to order, it'll come the day after tomorrow, and at a fair price.

  11. A

That's where you should have started. Write down my number, and save the Chinese original for the gullible.
