   Ночью он пытался уйти из больницы на костылях, в одной пижаме, по снегу. Еле перехватили, а заведующий мне так всыпал, что до сих пор помню.

   That night he tried to leave the hospital on crutches, in nothing but his pyjamas, through the snow. They barely caught him, and the head of department gave me such a dressing-down that I still remember it.
