    Hi, are you Artyom? I'm Ildar, your mentor, and we're all on first-name terms here.

    Привет... Очень приятно. Я, честно говоря, волнуюсь: боюсь что-нибудь сломать в первый же день.

    Hi... Nice to meet you. To be honest, I'm nervous: I'm afraid I'll break something on my very first day.

    Не бойся, не боги горшки обжигают. Хочешь, расскажу, что я сам устроил в первый месяц?

    Don't worry, nobody's born an expert. Want me to tell you what I got up to myself in my first month?

    I deleted the live database, despite three warnings. Then we spent half the night restoring the deleted data from a backup.

    And they didn't fire you after that? I'd probably have been too scared to even own up.

    Не уволили, потому что я сразу признался. На ошибках учатся, а молчать нельзя: не знаешь, спрашивай.

    They didn't fire me because I owned up right away. You learn from mistakes, but keeping quiet is not allowed: if you don't know, ask.
