   Well then, Oleg Viktorovich, I'm handing over: the keys to the office, the stamp, and thirty years of my life in these folders.

   Arkady Semyonovich, I must admit I thought it had all been on the computer for years, and here's a whole shelf.

   Компьютер, голубчик, может и подвести, а бумага под роспись надёжнее. Вот, скажем, «Водопровод»: две тысячи шестой год, прокладывали всем товариществом.

   A computer, my dear fellow, can let you down, but paper with signatures is more reliable. Take "Water Supply": two thousand and six, the whole cooperative laid it together.

   Это, Олег Викторович, самое главное: споры о заборах, собаках и чужих яблонях. Открывать её будете чаще других, ибо председатели меняются, а заборы остаются.

   That, Oleg Viktorovich, is the most important one: disputes about fences, dogs and other people's apple trees. You'll open it more than any other, for chairmen come and go, but fences stay.

   So get ready: Gorbunov, by the way, has a new fence again, and the neighbours wrote a complaint only yesterday.
