Запоминай, это паронимы: надеть что-то на себя, а одеть кого-то. Надеть шапку, одеть ребёнка.
Remember, these are paronyms: you 'put on' something yourself, and you 'dress' somebody. Put on a hat, dress a child.

А если я скажу «одеть куртку», это что, криминал? Все же так говорят.
And if I say 'dress a jacket', is that some kind of crime? Everyone says it.

Говорят многие, но на экзамене снимут балл. Есть подсказка: надеть одежду, одеть Надежду.
Lots of people do, but in the exam you'll lose a mark. Here's a trick: 'put on' clothes, 'dress' Nadezhda.
